what is a decent sound module i can get without breaking the bank

What style do you write?How much can you spend? Do you want brand new or used? E-MU makes fairly cheap modules, cheaper if you buy used.The novation a station is a great sounding module.

Then for cheap a used planet phat by e-mu would only set you back around $150 to $200 its good for hip hop.The newer one of course would be the mo phat,and used they sell for around $300 to $400.Any way try em out first to see if you like em. Also the korg trinity rack is cool for hip hop/R&B, I see them go for $450 to $500 used.The trinity came out before the triton and uses a lot of the same sounds.Any way good luck and happy hunting...

Thay romplers,=a bunch of sampled sounds.For the price, you get a lot. its not gona sound like alesis andromeda, but homeboy said he did not wana brake the bank.And yea the sounds are tweakable,you have filter cut off/ attack/ filter res/decy/shape/movement/arps/drums/efx/and a lot of sounds.
anyway its all about the sounds if you like em go for it if you don't pass.Peace.....

The e-mu's are as deep as you wana be.if you wana just play the sounds right out of the box just hook it up and go.If you wana study the manuel and learn the thing you can get more out of it.tweek sounds in real time like the cut off filter yes.
multitimbral yes .The sounds are saved in the user section and its not that hard.I'm talking about the newer ones i'm not shure about the planet phat and them,never tryed one.I have the xtreme lead and for the $220 i paid (used) its worth it......O and you can expand them but the chips are around $300...........

Emu is great, do not sleep on any of its mods. I have the Orbit, Audity, and the Turbo Phatt, and when looking for sounds I sometimes hit them up before my Motif Rack.
Easy to use, and control form your MPC.
I have all my Q-LINKS, set up so I cantrol the filters of those units from the 4000.
Great bang for the buck.
