Did I get i right? MPC and Cool Edit Pro

Anyone that know this?

Is it right that I can record beats into cool edit pro trough a Midi cable, into Multitracks? And cool edit will put each track into diffrent tracks??

Nope, can't record ANY beats into ANYWHERE using a Midi Cable... You can use the cable to Midi sync but ur gonna need an audio cable going into your computer for any audio to track on the cool edit. As for multitracking, you're gonna need the 8 outs from tha MPC going into a soundcard with 8 inputs. Then if Cool Edit offers multitracking (Which i'm not for sure if it does or not), then you need to set the channels on Cool Edit to the specific channel for each track. Then after ALLLLLLLLL of that.... Presto, chang-o, you've got it.
