midi channels and drum banks

I,m trying to slave a xl2000 with cubase sx and have run into a couple of dramas
1. the xl seems to only recieve one channel of midi so how do you play all four drum banks?
2. I can get cubase to trigger one drum bank and some sound modules but how do u get it to actual send stop start info
