MIDI controller with my mpc?

Yo my set up consist of a mpc 2000xl an turntalbe...a four channel mixer...and a dell pc....i got a midi controller and i wanted to use it.....i used to use it with fl but i dont use that anymore...now i got cool edit and acid on my pc...so im wondering....What do i need now to use my midi conttroller with my set u p? how would i be able to trigger the sounds? Someon e plese help me out....

do you have a midi interface for your computer? if not, you will need one for the computer to see midi. your mpc is a midi controller, so if you dont already have one, you dont have to get one. but a keyboard is nice to have since the pads are laid out in general midi and are hard to play scales on. check the midiman usb midi interfaces out, theyre pretty cheap and get the job done. thats all you really need. you can either plug the controller into the mpc and sequence with that or plug into to the midi interface. either or depending on your preferences.

Good looking mesh...i actually have a midiman keyboard...its kinda hot...i jstu basically want it up so that i can compose...thats all but thanks for the input....
