Samples loaded via USB come out high pitch/speed

I have an issue where sometimes when I upload WAV files to the MPC 1000 through USB the file is at an obnoxiously high pitch/speed.

I can turn town the tune in program mode to where it eventually sounds right, but that is not permanent.

I have OS 1 and 2, any suggestions?

I tried pitch shift and time stretch, and maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I get very messy results.

your samples use a lower sample rate than 44.1khz
