...the buttons from the board ?

Dear all, I have just completed phase one of my MPC makeover ( looking pretty ok, but the dyeing the pads thing was a waste of effort - will be ordering ablack set very shortly ).

However, as much as I managed to spray the wheels and dials, I could not get the buttons off to spray them. each button has a housing unit around it that seems to be rooted into the board, and you can't obviously get at it without having to possibly really undo just about every darn thing ?

Any hlepful advice from those that have pulled these things would be really appreciated ?

Yeh, I covered the the jog wheels rec/gain knobs just fine, but the button housings were right lil buggers !

I just heard from Micky over at MPC stuff and he advised as you to pinch the sides in and pull upwards. Will try the final stages ( spraying my buttons this weekend ). I would post a pic of the unit so far, but I just can't figure a damn how to post a picture on this site ?

Thanks, Pounda .....

details..........
the brown was 45min in boiling water with half a bottle of liquid dye. the 1k pads are alot more resiliant rubber than the previous mpc pads. its denser. because of that the color doesnt take anywhere near as well as the older pads. and the pads are alot darker in person than they are in the pic.
