Transposing all tracks but the drums at once ?

Hello,

I'm using a Yamaha QY700 to accompany my singing students.
The QY700 has a feature to transpose the whole song at once which
comes in very handy when a singer is trying a new song.
Only the rhythm tracks and/or MIDI channel 10 stays unaltered.

My question; has the MPC1000 a similar function?

I'd rather work with the smaller MPC and sell the QY700

yes it does in the sequence edit screen but im not sure it is all tracks at the same time or just track by track but the 1k does have it.

Good news: you can transpose all Sequences and Tracks at once if you want. The Sequence Edit: Transpose window has Sq: and Tr: fields where you select what to work on, and each has an "All" option.
Transpose only operates on "MIDI" type Tracks - if you set a Track type to "DRUM", it will not get transposed. So if you set the Track types correctly first, you can transpose a whole song in one go, without worrying that your Snare turns into a Conga.
