Silocone Pad Implants (w/ photos)

Please Please, Put up the picture of the product! Or if you can give the exact name that would help too. I think I will end up doing this... I like the Idea of a lighter touch to trigger the pads and an end to my Two Finger Technique.

At least if you use the same type of product I used the second time around. This stuff would peel right off if you wanted.
I know you don't have Walmart over there, but I'll put up a picture of the product when I get a chance.

cool thanks for the info.looking forward to seeing the pic when you post it. yeah we dont have walmart over here, but we've got asda which is owned by walmart..only difference is we cant buy a gun with our groceries!

Yep, that Two Finger Jab is a thing of the past for me!

It actually took me a few days to get used to using one finger and more precision. The other cool thing is I now realize that the accidental flam-hits I used to get was just the result of the Two Finger Jab Technique. (Two points of impact increases likeliness).

two finger jab is a hard habit to break
but it definitely results in flam
and if your pads are monophonic, you will have the problem of a note being like 1 tick apart, the first with a velocity of 100 or so and the second with a velocity of 1. this creates an ugly glitchy sound.

it'd be nice if there was a duplicate filter option in TC or in SEQ EDIT where you could weed out hits within a certain range (1-5 ticks) with a velocity discrepancy (a spread of 100 or so) to kill these duplicates...the function would kill the less-loud recorded note.

Man forget all that midi filter stuff... If I gave up the Double-digit Jab habit after three days... you got this homey!

This is the solution. I will be doing this fix myself next weekend. The electrical tape thing did NOT pan out...

so is this silocone thing for new pads or the orginal mpc pads?

Why not?? I did it and my black pads are working great now. The lightest hit would not produce sound before the tape.

I went with the tape cause I was just trying it out and if it didn't help, I would have done the silicon... so far so good.

This is a great idea, I can't believe I didn't see the other thread before!

I hope to try this soon if I get some free time.
