hi.
to the original poster - i dont have an mpc 2000 so ive never had to deal with what you have to.
i found this:
File extension PGM description:
16 bits mono sound format.
Note:
The MPC-1000, the MPC-2000, the MPC-2000XL and the MPC-3000 all use different program formats although they all have the same .PGM extension. Actually the MPC-2000 and MPC-2000XL use the same PGM file format, but the latter (like the MPC-1000) wants samples in .WAV format, while the former wants them in .SND format (like the MPC-3000).

http://www.file-extensions.org/pgm-file ... m-set-filehttp://www.file-extensions.org/pgm-file ... m-set-fileif the above information is true then you may have to find some third party file converter (there appears to be some software being sold on that link - surely theres a freeware out there!).
to el dawgs - are you trying to bring in files from a 2000 or are you getting that error when importing samples from your computer? remember they should be 16 bit 44100 wav otherwise the 1000 cant read them (= Wrong file).
