MPC1000 only has unbalanced connections so you don't gain the CMRR benefits of using balanced whatever you do. Just using a balanced cable wont help reject noise. Marginal gains can be made by wiring it yourself and connecting the earth at one end (preferably to the grounded chassis rather than audio ground) and using the hot/cold twisted pair for the signal. Still nothing like using real balanced audio though!
