I have an MPC1000 which is about 18 months old. I am not usually a heavy user of the MPC (a couple of hours a week).

Recently the "Main" and "Down Cursor" buttons have been playing up.
Sometimes I have to push the buttons several times before the MPC responds.
I expect these buttons to fail completely soon and this will make the MPC unsuable.

I see on MPC Stuff and other websites that you can buy spare parts for the MPC.

Can I buy new buttons and replace them myself?

Has anyone eles had a similar issue and were you able to fix the problem yourself?

Thanks for that....I found a good post with a link to the part I need (the button contact) and some instructions on how to install.

I was just freaking out that the MPC might have to go in the bin becuase some dodgy buttons.

Phew!

Just to add a lil somethin to the convo. I have the same issue with my 1000 buttons:"Main", "Left arrow", and "Bar <<". They worked, but after damn near holding it down. Anyways. Had some pressurized air cans (Office Depot), opened the casing on my baby up, and sprayed really deep into the actual sensor. Deep. Gotta lift out the plastic clicky things and spray into the sensor.
Get to the point, all but my "Main" button are back to normal again.
Just be careful if you've never opened it up.
