cd-drive for mpc 1000?

Hey,

ok, that sounds like a weird question and i'm shure it's not possible, but i'll ask anyway:

is there a way to connect a cd-drive to the mpc 1000 ? (I don't mean to connect a cd-player via audio-jacks with the mpc, but to use usb or the HD-Cable to connect a computer CD-Drive)

I mean it's possible for the mpc 2500, maybe there is a way to do it on the 1000, too?

you have a working IDE drive there dont you? youd have to at least make it sit on a box with the ide optical drive in it. the mpc may require it to be any of a number of devices, and perhaps that they be writable too. in which case, the cd/dvd drive idea wont work.

are the guts of the 2500 that much different from the 1000? does there exist an unused link for an optical drive?

does anyone have some pictures of a 2500 taken apart?
