Hi,

I recently bought some samples from the Akai web site, including a drum kit called MINIMALIST. I load the program and all samples, and when I play each pad, a different drum sound plays (as expected.)

Next, when I go to record a sequence (for example, a kick/snare using pad 12 and pad 6) everything seems to work ok until the loop starts playing back (when the 2 bar loop is done and record goes into overdub mode.) At this point, a different sound plays instead of the kick sound that I intended.

I have over 15 years of experience with MIDI gear and software sequencers but this thing continues to baffle me (although I admit I just got it.) Does anyone know why the pads I hit are getting transposed??

It's brand new. Bought it from a very reputable dealer in New York City (Armen's Music Shop, whom by the way, I recommend.)

What's odd is that this doesn't happen with other programs.

I think I fat fingered something and screwed up a setting. I may try resetting the system to its factory defaults.

Update:
I went to the Akai web site and obtained the latest version of the operating system (2.12.) After loading this version, the problem went away. It must have been some strange bug. It did not seem to be a problem with all programs, just some of them...
