MPC 1000 not working after failed 128 RAM attempt... Great. Called up AKAI to see if they'd replace it because I still have my warranty... Nah, they wasn't trying to do it. Called some other people; they say the main CPU is probably damaged.

Looks like I'll have to do it myself. I'll be needing the AKAI MPC 1000 main CPU assembly PCB board. If any other people have had this problem, feel free to help a brother out. I'm going to add a 120GB hard drive while I'm doing this.

Any advice???

Wow, now there's some helpful information I can use... Not my MPC1000's back working! Thanks! Your "helpful" advice made it come true...

Seriously, **** off if you're not spittin' no "technical" jargon here. Time is money; we wouldn't expect you to know due to your dickheadedness here. Save that post for somebody who's got the time to be an **** like you.

Moving on... Is there anybody that would advise doing this???

 dude keep saying time is money...then spend that bread and get it fixed

Just cuz you ruined your MPC doesnt mean you need to bomb the boards with the same sh*t over and over....remember its YOUR problem not ours...

You talking about replacing boards on the MPC but if you cant install RAM correctly your are prolly not qualified to diagnose the actual problem of your machine. What you should do is at least have it looked at by someone qualified. OR you could spend money on a component and replace it only to find out thats not the problem. Or even worse end up damaging the new component.

Now you said it was under warranty but how long ago since purchase? The reason I ask is because some stores have 45 day return policy (a small amount have 90 days). You may be able to go back to the store and BS them. Just say that it stopped working. Make no mention of the RAM situation. Other than that, having someone with proper tools to diagnose the problem is the most solid advice I can offer.
