USB Turntables w/ 1000?

Im looking buy turntables im NOT a DJ so im not concern about doing party/event or scratching etc....i just want to sample records to the 1000,i dont have much problems with sampling mp3 files but i heard samping vinyl gives the samples a much more warm feeling overrall better quality of sound.i looked for turntables at my local tv/radio stores but they are selling them for $350-450.....at guitar center they priced their turntable at 500-800 im not a professional i just make music as hobby so these prices are bit too rich for my blood i seen that GC they have USB turntables under as low as $100 does anyone have exprience with USB Turntables?

I assume you want to plug the usb turntable into the mpc via usb. I'm afraid this isn't possible. However, the usb turntable should have a stereo output whic would go into the mpc. The good thing with a usb turntable is (I think) you won't need a mixer to amplify the sound from the turntable, as the turntable has a pre-amp in it. You don't need a pair of turntables either, as you're not djing!

The sound of these are ok. I have a portable turntable, which is pretty much the same, but without usb connection. I sometimes sample from it. But the quality of the recording will depend on the needle. You could look into getting a second hand turntable for around 100. I live in the uk, and I've just sold one of my quality stanton decks for £40. So check ot ebay. If you're just a hobbyiest, then maybe a usb turntable is the best route to go down.

none of those cheap turntables will... the "warm" sound comes from a turntable with a nice high-grade cartridge on it. a cheap turntable will sound like ass... this has been discussed plenty in the past.

A cheap turntable with a good cartridge is better than a good turntable with a cheap cartridge for sampling. Mixing is a different story... but for sampling I'd be more inclined to say don't cut corners on your needle than the actual turntable.
