CL3 required when upgrading ram?

hey all,

just copped an mpc 1000. i understand that standard pc 133 256mb 144pin computer ram will work fine on the mpc as mentioned in the sticky but does it also have to have the CL3 spec?

more specifically, will this work?

i remember seeing a list of working ram but can't seem to find it anymore. any help appreciated.

Infineon 256mb 100mhz,cl2...AND its pc100 ...NOT pc133!

i just decided to take a chance since the laptop was dead and in the trash anyway.....a sony vaio laptop.

thx, finally found what i was looking for, can anyone confirm this?

i know several guys who put in the cheapest ram they could fine and it works. if you got an old notebook try it's ram chip.
