Need help with multiple reason instruments

So I have my 1000 hooked up to sequence reason sounds, and have it fully interacting. The problem is I cant figure out how to do multiple instruments. Example, I made a 4 bar loop on my 1000, the first 5 tracks were drum samples off the MPC, then for track 6 I made a bass line with the Thor in Reason. However when I add another instrument to make a melody for track 7, the midi data for track 6 interferes and it plays all the hits for track 6 on the new instrument I loaded. I tried setting up the channels 1-16 at the top of the reason rack, channel 1 for the bassline (and set the MPC track on A1), and channel 2 for the new instrument (A2 on the MPC track 7) but doesn't make any difference. Spent a while trying to figure this out today and I'm stumped, It's gotta be as simple as just a setting that I have wrong or something. Sorry for the long and somewhat confusing post.

Try using Reason's mixer. And press TAB, too.

What do you mean by try using Reason's mixer?? Use it for what exactly? I press Tab and it sure seems like all the cables are running to the right spots...

That comment about the mixer doesn't make sense, ignore it.

Which one is sequencing the MIDI, the MPC or Reason?
