Pad sensitivity

Yo all I just got my 1000 and I think it is pretty tight so far, but I gotta say (at least with mine) that the pad sensitivity varies like a mutha **** from pad to pad. Even using the pad adjust and putting some at +16 I have to whale on them to get a 127 velocity, while others I have to put at +5. I think that is kinda shady.

Mine was like that at first.....after you bang on it really good for a month or so you'll see the velocity response even out a lot. Then you won't have to have ANY of them at +16. I had to do that too for a minute....here's a tip though: put your most used samples on the keys that are really insensitive so you play them a lot more, and they'll break in faster. This is one of the only real downsides to the 1000......I don't remember my 60 or 2000XL needing the pads to be broken in like that....at least not nearly as much.

Yeah, I second Manik. I was kinda mad about the pads too...I callled up Akai and everything...now, a month later, the pads all have pretty much even response. I am relieved. They deffinitely did suck at first, though..

Thanks for that info guys! I have had my 1000 for a week now, and I too, noticed a couple of pads that are not as responsive as the others. Since I'm an inexperienced MPC user, I have the sensitivity cranked for now... :lol:

I'll hang in there too and not worry about it! Peace...
