but someone said that they are softer not sure if this is a pyschological thing (ie peeps spend 15o they want it to feel better)

but from my understanding the reason for the pad upgrade from akia's perspective was to eliminate the issue of pads going dead not to give peeps softer pads.

It was said that a lot of users found the old pads too stiff. They upgrade really does feel better on the fingertips. It's only the responsitivity that still sucks without the mod.

I have the padupgrade, and u can definately feel the difference between those two padsets.
I also have the 2500 and u can def. feel that the pads on that one have a much better response.

may have said the pad upgrade makes no difference

Dont get me wrong, Nu-Akai is BOGUS for charging customers for the pad upgrade, but the difference is night and day. I had the same issues with setting my old pads to full level due to pad (non)responsivness. Thats the 1st stage of them going out!! I used to use 16 levels for different velocities as well. With the new pads i dont need 16 lvls velocity and can achieve diff velocities with pad pressure. Using Nym's silicone fix makes the pads golden. You just have to adjust the sensitivity and pad on levels in the mpcs settings. The pads gave me a whole new experience with my mpc. Akai can still eat a D#ck though!!!! :x

if the mpc1000 were a toilet... the old pads would be like wiping your ass with sandpaper, whereas the new pads would be like using that triple-layer expensive toilet paper with aloe vera in it n shit...

choose wisely.

i am super happy withe the NEW pads PLUS electric-tapefix

of course it s hard to pay for akai s mismanagemaent, but at the end,

for me using mpc as a core-producing-live-tool, it made absolutely sense to upgrade

knowing these pads will not die (my old pads bagan to malfunktion, as it was a used mpc, no

garantie, so for me it was easier to get a new mpc), the response is really

better,, but not as soft as the 2500 pads, otherwise it s reported that the black pads are softer.(didn

t try them yet).
