$600 for MPC1000 60gb hard drive 128mb RAM...worth it???

The reason I'm asking is because this model is a couple years old so I'm pretty sure it has the old pads, not the soft ones.

The seller told me he never had issues with the pads

you can score the older blue model with the old pads for $400 easily on ebay or craiglist... i'd say pass.

Ok...I'm confused...I checked it out and the pads are kinda soft and rubber. I thought the old pads are hard and stiff? They depress if I move my finger around the sides. I thought this is what the new pads do..?

all the red and blues have the old pads.
