MPC 1000 and Sonar 3 question...

OK, this seems pretty simple but I've been stuck on it for the past 6 hours and now it's driving me nuts. I tried to figure it out myself but I need to ask the Top Doggs... OK, I recorded a cool little sequence on my MPC 1000 and now I want to record each individual track of the sequence into Sonar seperately so I can make changes, FX and all that good stuff... I was trying to do it through audio first but every track was getting off beat. So now I'm trying with MIDI but I can't seem to figure out how to get it to work. I read up on using the MPC with external devices and using it as a slave but that doesn't really discuss the problem that I'm having. Has anyone tried doing this before and if so, what is the best way to go about it?

If there was some type of way I can get the MPC to start playing and then have Sonar start recording at the same time, that might do the trick. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!

Im still stuck on the same thing. Ive done some research and I found that you need a MIDI Box (which is a midi interface) hooked up to your computer. Then that gets hooked up to your MPC and your set. Im not sure if this is right tho because I havent tried it. Im actually trying to sync up Sonar 2.1, my MPC, and my Motif 6. Still no luck. I do have the MPC as a master and the Motif as a slave but I cant get Sonar to controll both devices at the same time. Im trying to record the audio just like you are. Im having the same issue....

I'm curious if you guys ever has any success since I'm now trying to record a sequence from my new MPC 1000 to SONAR 3.
Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Peace.

I've tried and tried but it's impossible for me to get each track recorded in sync. I'm sure there is a way to hook it up to the MIDI interface and then from there get it to Sonar but I'm just going to use the keyboard to trigger the MPC sounds and then go from there. The only thing that sucks about that is you lose all the benefit of sequencing with the MPC. If someone has any better ideas please let me know.

maybe record as wave files and import in sonar.

You can record all the tracks together as one wave file and import but if you have to go back and fix a single track you can't do it. You can't really record individual tracks as .wav files because the tracks won't sync up properly.

Don't forget you can just save the sequence as a MIDI file, on the MPC, and import that into Sonar...

The mpc1000 will sync up perfectly to Sonar 3 if you are using a proper workststion (computer) and a good midi interface. But the way I do it is mix down all drums, fx and samples in the MPC1000 and then sync it to sonar as the (slave) and record it as a wav. file. All of your synths+softsynths will sync also (on seperate tracks and seperate passes).You can also record your midi tracks at the same time as your drums and bounce them them to audio later. You have to set up sonar to send out midi clock to the right midi port where your MPC 1000 Is plugged in.

I got my MPC working with Sonar just 2 days ago. Set the MPC MIDI sync to: IN: 2
OUT: B

Connect the MPC to your PC via MIDI cables...

In Sonar go to:
Options> Project> Sync>

And check off these options:
-Transmit MIDI Start/ Continue/ Stop/ Clock
-Use Start never stop
-Transmit MIDI song position pointer

When you press record in Sonar your MPC should play back....

This may or may not work.... It worked for me. Good luck!
