How do you reset?

I recently bought a used MPC 1000 from eBay and ran into trouble when trying to save a project. I get the message enter password, when asked the buyer told me to look in the manual which I did but could only find how to reset the system to it's factory presets. Does anyone know how to reset the system to a new password or anything like that please?

I'm currently running the newest verison of JJ OS.

sounds like it's either jjos 1 or 2 that is installed, neither of these allow saving without the password to unlock the full features of the os.. of course anyone on feel free to correct me if i'm wrong..

Yes that is correct.

You have three options

Buy a Key for JJOS (ensure wich Version it actually is BEFORE buying a Key ^^ I think it´s JJOS 1)

Use the free JJOS Version

or use the AKAI OS


And a little Tip especially for you:
When you are using the JJOS... gosh, read the JJ manual... NOT the Akai... this is why you found nothing about the password thing.

It is more than easy. Load the freh OS File on your cf Card, start the mpc while holding "window" button down and the rest is history ;D

google for OS´s if you do not have a clou where to find. Ur use the search function.
