Midi handshake with MPC1000/Fantom S

I have figured out how to connect them with MIDI. What I can't figure out is am I able to use multiple instruments from the keyboard to the MPC MIDI sequencer or just one. If so, how do I do it? I assigned channels to instruments but the keyboard will only play back 1 instrument at a time thru MIDI.

You'll need to put your Roland in 'Multi Mode' or whatever Roland call it.

It will allow the synth to receive midi on all 16 channels simultaneously.

Check the MIDI settings on the synth, and of course consult the manual.
