I'd love to see some of this. Is there any footage of it online?

I'm not to sure if there's any footage online but the DVD is called "dj shadow - in tune and on time". I got it from lovefilm.com if u happen to have an account :)

it's not a bad DVD, he tries to recreate all his tracks live on stage using various equipment (including mpcs) & even plays the original vinyl on stage where he took the samples off..my favorite being the track he used for "six days" which originally is basically an acapella with a constant sort of bass note all the way thru.. Organ donor is another good one he does on the pads of the mpc..aswell as creating the tracks on stage he mixes them together to which gives some nice "one off" remixes..

Thanks DjMastas! It doesn't really matter to me what Mp people use, as I think that MOST can be done on the 1000. I just love to see how people use their Mp's, especially when they really get creative with it and stretch the boundaries. Seeing someone like Damu use an unexpanded Mp2k with 20 seconds of memory and get whhat he gets out of it is truly inspiring... I love to see someone do everything on their Mp. Using that as the only instrument. I also love to see people add other effects units, turn tables, hell anything, linked up with the Mp. Just great to see what other people are creating with these incredable machines.
Got to get ready for work, but I'll deffinately check these out tonight... Thanks again!

bob katz "mastering audio the art and the science"
this guy is a brilliant mastering enginneer, and his book explains a lot about eqing, compressing a final mix for mastering, which can be very interesting for producers, because we sample and manipulate stereo files actually.....
this book also covers a lot about mixing...worth checking out

Oh yeah, I've heard of Bob Katz. I'm going to get that book. Thanks!

this question is so weird because i KNOW i've read dudes talking about using the 1000, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.

but if I find producers mentioning the 1K in interviews, I'll post it up.
