is it just me or is your avatar kinda counterintuitive to a forum?


the cf is your hard drive
the ram is what you have loaded from the hard drive.......

Pitch up your samples on your turntable, then when you put them into the machine, Pitch them back down to the correct interval. This will effectively make your samples shorter allotting you more memory to work with.

Soooo.... To cook more chicken you need a bigger oven. To load more samples you need more memory (RAM). To store more chicken you need a bigger freezer. To store more samples you need more storage (a bigger CF or HDD).

Make sense now?

16MB is about 3 minutes of sample time in mono, and about 1.5 minutes in stereo... 128MB is about 24 minutes of sample time in mono, and about 12 minutes in stereo. Either realize the limitations, adjust your workflow, and manage your samples better, or spend $20 on RAM.


Wow, lol, that actually made sense. So the CF is storage and the Memory regulates how many things you can have open at once. Right?
Thanx. And I actually did read through the manual, but I don't remember it saying much about the difference between the CF and the RAM.

haha, it's funny you say that. Yeah, I guess it looks that way. It's actually about DOING MUSIC YOURSELF without any forced direction from "hot shot" record labels whose only interest is appealing to the media.

No.

Memory is volatile active workspace, ONLY active while the machine is on, dynamically holds samples, beats, songs, programs, sequences, tracks, pad assignments, settings, etc ONLY when the power is on, there is NO STORAGE in memory. When power is OFF memory is zeroized.
