I reformatted and things worked fine for a while once i got the directory error i then switchd to your method but it was already too late .

The 2000 looks better and better every day...

Come on Akai..... fix this problem, stop ruining the reputation of a good machine.

i spoke to akai and they said you should never save directly to the root. so have a folder in the root with all your stuff in

ive not got round to doing this properly but i have 4 main folders in the root with folders in them

i get directory error every first time i re-save a project. to solve this i used to 'refresh' and save again and this would be fine. but its halving the life of the drive if youre saving everything twice surely

now i just delete the folder with my project and create a new folder to save my project in

no probs yet (touch wood)

Akai are useless with thier suppot of course no one saves directly to the root . Most of the poeple i spoke to akai dont even know what os is the newest . I eventualt spoke to some one who admitted it is a known problem and says that they will work on it .

I hav no faith in them so switched to the third party , no matter what i tried with 2.1 my hitatchi 80gb hardrive corrupted files and could noy save properly .

So I see this post is hella old, but funk it.. I'm having the problems described by everyone on the post, and you call for backing up files.. The thing is, I got hella kits n sounds I came up on, it took a whole day to load em on my Mpc, and it'll take just as long to save em to my comp to format my hard disk to my mpc, and I did the stupid thing of saving a grip of sequences n programs to the root. Is there an efficient way of doing this? And also it won't let me delete certain files that are corrupted when I'm plugged in to my pc.. I hope you can help me! Noob to the site (kinda). Thanks!

My way to solve the corrupted and dissapearing file problem is changing from the Akai OS to the JJOS.

It seems that there is a bug in the Akai OS which gives you the corrupted file problem.

So...switch to the free or payed JJOS, backup all files and reformat your drive with JJOS.....you will never have this problem again.
