time stretching, making loops fit

i just got an mpc1000, which i have started to learn, but the question i have is; is it possible to cut up and use several samples so the timing is steady without affecting pitch? similar to what recycle does? if not, how do you work around it.. i got a pretty good price on this one, so i will probably use it as a midi controller and standalone.. but i may sell it and get a controller if i cant really get the hang of using it

btw, it has the jj 3.08 os installed if that matters, thanks

once sample is loaded, press Mode, then Trim, select chop, devide it how you would in reason, Edit, choose phase or sliced samples and then press Convert
