Help, I seem to have to hit the pads really hard...

Hey, as the title says. Im wondering if something is wrong with the pads on my mpc, When I watch beatmaking video's other people seem to be able to just touch the pads and get a good signal, I have to hit them fairly hard. Is this normal? Thanks for any advice!

did you adjust the sensitivity?

mpc1000 has crappy pads... there are at least 1000 threads here discussing that fact.

if all else fails, just push the FULL LEVEL button and call it a day.

i have tried adjusting the sensitivity and it doesn't seem to help. Ok I've tried the full level button, that helps, at least its more consistent now. Thanks for that tip. any other suggestions?

sensitivity: 25
pad on level: 1
curve: A

seems to work fine. i can just lightly push the pad for a low sound, and tap for full 127 and every where in between.. and i dont have to "bang" the pads to get 127...
