Blue 1000 - how's the pad failure rate?

I’m looking to cop a 1000 and there’s a guy who’s moving woh's desperate to sell his blue one (excellent condition) on craigslist for $550, and I’m considering offering him $500 for it. I’ve read that the pads tend to fail on the blue ones and that Akai didn’t fix those, only the black ones. Is there a high failure rate for the blue 1000s?

100% failure rate. Thats why the design was changed. $500 is too much for a blue one.

yea man, dont bother. For the money you are spending, shop around for a black one and make beats worry free.
