I want to buy MPC 1000. I already have M-audio Trigger Finger. Maybe someone connect MPC with trigger finger or mpd 24.
Have you ever used this compilation ? If yes, how it works ?

greetings!

The only reason I can think of someone using an MPC1000 and another pad controller together is so that they dont have to switch pad banks to access the full compliment of samples loaded into the MPC.

This would give you 32 pads to trigger samples with instead of just 16, some (Dr Dre) just use two MPC's.

Im sure you could possibly set-up the pads/ knobs/ sliders of a pad controller to do other things to your MPC, but without knowing the full Midi spec of the M-Audio Trigger Finger or Akai MPD I cannot verify exactly what.

Pad controllers send out different midi information (note on/ off, CC numbers, latch (on/off) switch, sysex commands etc).

So an additional pad controller could be a useful addition to your studio, for the reason mentioned above, but also for when you need some pads which are light and portable or to knock up quick ideas with a laptop.

Thanks :)
But maybe someone tried exactly this compilation ?
I supose that MPD with MPC works perfectly. I'm just afraid of connection MPC with machines of others companies...

My buddys got a 1000 with some dead pads... So I figured we would hook up the mpd 16 through midi and he would just use those instead. We did that but the mpd triggers weird random notes, like hitting the pads in order would trigge pads on banks c, and d.

Is there anyway to configure this correctly so he can just trigger the exact notes on that would be triggered if using the pads on the Mpc?

Use the Enigma software to reprogram the trigger finger's pads to match the pads of the 1k.

Before I found good configuration for trigger finger and FPC (FL studio plugin) I was trying to write samples on pads "by hand" and it wasn't working very well. I found only one good configuration for FL Studio and now i'm thinking about correct cofiguration for MPC 1000 if there wouldn't work "handy" connected configuration
