Hey everyone,
I've had my blue MPC 1000 for a few years now. I've got a 2gig flash card in my MP and I've been
dragging and dropping cut wav samples into the MPC from my Mac. The flash card still have 1.86 gigs
of space on it but when I drop samples into the card from my mac it says there is no more room
left. There are only 90 samples in the MP (kicks, snares, and HH). Anyone had this problem before or
know what's up with this?

I haven't tried reformatting the flash card on the MP.
I will give that a try.
How does one reformat their flash card?

Have you tried emptying the trash on the Mac while the MPC1000 is connected? Remember, if you use the Mac to delete files off the CF card, they just go into the (hidden) trash folder that is created on the CF card itself.

To clear that hidden trash folder, you'll need to ensure the card is connected to the Mac - then go to the trash bin on your Mac and 'empty trash'. This empties the trash folders on all your attached drives as well as the trash from your Macintosh HD drive.

Formatting the card should also work, but you lose all your files on your CF, so make sure you back up first.

Thanks for the tips fellas I reformatted the flash card on the MPC and reloaded
my samples. It doesn't say the flash card is full now, so it seems my problems was fixed.
If anyone else has this problem hit MODE + LOAD, then select UTILITY on the
lcd screen. then select DO IT. Just remember to back up your samples from your
MPC as these guys suggested or you'll lose them when you reformat the flash card.
Thanks guys for taking time out of your day to help me, I appreciate it.

Also, you might want to go out and buy a bigger CF card. I went to Micro Center in Philly and got a 2 gb cf card for about $16.00. That CF is 62.5 x's larger than the 32mb cf Akai provides. You'll never have a space problem on your CF.
