recording over a looping drum pattern

Again i'm new to the 1000, but i've come up against a little problem ....

I've recorded a 2 bar drum pattern as a sequence. Can i repeat the 2 bar pattern over say 8 bars and record 8 bars of some synth strings or something along with it?

When you record a sequence it seems whatever you set the bars to, thats it.

And you can't record in song mode, is this right?

Any help appreciated

you can change the number of bars in your sequence. the new bars you add will be blank, but you can copy your existing 2 bars (in the SEQ EDIT screen) and paste them in to the new blank bars, so you have your original beat repeated 4 times. Then you can record your synth track to an 8 bar sequence

Are you strings coming from a sample in your 1000 or a keyboard/module?
