Removing the knobs

Need info on taking off the volume/rec/gain knob. Do i just pull it off or turn it,or do i have to remove it from under the board? Can someone help me, i'm trying to pimp out my 1000 and i dont want to screw something up.

the volume knobs can only be removed AFTER removing the face plate... the q-link sliders are the only knobs that will come off before opening the mpc.

Yes i can remove the faceplate, but removing the volume and rec knobs is what i'm trying to do .

once you have the face plate off, just pull the volume knobs off.
