Mixing: How to turn a sample up?

I have many different samples from different sources and one may have been sampled lower than the others, but the mixer is at it's limit...is there a way to turn the single sample up more without using the effects? thanks

use the normalize function, it will put your sample at his highest sound level possible without distortion.

You can do it in the mpc when editing your sample.

in trim mode? tried to do it in pgm mode and nothing.
