MPC500 -> MPC1000...upgrade?

I have the MPC500. I like working with a MPC, but the 500 feels limited in some ways:

- only 12 pads
- pads are not responsive
- small display
- poor sound quality, very quiet...
- poor OS, frustrating to use

Will a MPC1000 be worth the upgrade? It's a lot of money

sell the 5 get a 1k used with jjos, i would add a hard drive and ram (assuming the 1k is the newer pads) should only cost u 300-400 after u sell the 500

Yes it would be an upgrade if you get it with the latest JJOS. All I can say for the 500 that its ruggedly built for transportation and most of the stuff in it has to be done manually but can do what any MPC can do. It kinda trains you to be a ninja.

Ok, I might as well have a closer look at the MPC1000. The sequencer in the MPC500 is sooo nice to work with, but I really don't like the sound qualtiy and pads. I guess the best way to find out if the 1000 really is better, is to have a listen myself.

I think I'll keep the 500 for backup and traveling.
