No MIDI CC with an MPC...... Bad planning akai

Well three calls later from Akai technicians and I have learned this

The MPC1k will not audibly change samples via midi cc. You can use a midi controller to control another sound module, duh, you can use the midi controller to send data to the mpc which will send the midi data to an external sound module and record the information, moderately helpful.

Basically the only mpc that will let you utilize midi data in real tim is the mpc5k, without that one you have to plug in to another sound module.

Why am I using this? There is no real time performance ability. If I wanted to use ableton then I would be using it. Ableton can do everything this mpc can, and more ie. accept midi data and produce audible changes in realtime. So I have to plug into one of these cpu based sound engineers reguardless of my owning an MPC. The whole point for me was to bypass the cpu. Im tired of seeing an apple logo at every electronic show.

Le sigh. I am doomed. Getting ableton and will probably sell this obsolete case of wires and plastic after I am fluent with the ableton prgrm. Akai, you should really come up with a patch for this, I'm sure I'm not the only business youll be losing for such an extreme lack of insight.

what are you trying to control ? the samples playing or the settings of the programmes or effects ? i can trigger samples and looking at the manual it seems there is a bit of control. i love the sequencer and can control all my synths effortlessly. why not just make a song or pattern the way you waNT it and use it that way?

umm the mpc is a Sampler, why would u have it and have a sample in external sources tryin edit from the mp, put the sample in the sampler thats what its made for,u shouldve researched b4 u bought it..

Sorry to hijack this thread, but if I run drum tracks from an MPC1000 and have a delay pedal that has a midi in socket (requires Midi CC 20 and 21 controls to be sent to it) is this possible?

Can I somehow add the CC 21 to each beat of a bar to set the tempo? Or does the MPC not do Midi CC at all?

OP you had me stumped when you said its not very condusive to playing live.
