sequencer skips ahead on the 2nd bar

Hello everybody! I've had my MP1k for a long time now...about 4-5 years. Everything works OK...except the sequencer. Every now and then on the second bar it triggers early. The count is something like this:

1-2-3-41-2-3-4-1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4 and so on.




I do not use quantise for my beats. When I put quantise on (for the hell of it)it does the same thing. But it seems like 60% of the time this problem occurs. Whenever it starts to happen again I have to stop making beats and I don't touch the MP for a long time.

This is very frustrating...anyone else have this problem? Help would be much appreciated.

FYI: it's not dirt, grit, dust, or any kind of foreign materials causing the problem...I checked.

Akaipro hasnt emailed me back yet. Maybe at the end of this week I'll have some kind of helpful response. I might just have a unique unsolved problem.

That's crazy, I never heard of anything like that. The only possibility I can think of is the play start button is going bad. Maybe check the tact switch or spray it down with deoxit.

Right, that and the forward locate button can make the sequence skip a beat. Not sure what else hardware wise could cause that. Just out of curiosity, is it doing this on any specific mode or menu?
Edit: Also, is this happening while the MPC is synced up to something or just while the MPC is being used by itself?

THANK YOU! I'll purchase those buttons and we'll see. Hopefully that's the only thing wrong. I'm going to check it out after and see...I'm pretty confident that you guys are on track... that makes sense to me.

wait try deoxit before you go buying tact switches and soldering parts.
