Damn that was quick, but good stuff man. You went with the option that you def wouldn't regret.
I used to have a 2000xl back in 2001. I flipped it to get a s5000 with an atari 1040ste with cubase. That was later flipped into an upright bass which in turn put me out the beat making game for a few years. I don't regret flipping the s5000/ atari combo, but damn I do regret flipping that 2000xl. So I speak from experience when I say someone will regret a decision to flip something. At times, gear lust and impatience can be your worst enemies. Let us know how the 1000 is, hopefully you got one with new pads and a fully functional right op board.
