mpc 1000 chopping glitch

hey people,

i recently bought a korg r3 and have started using it with my mpc 1000. so where I'm having trouble is after i record a sample (play back on that is fine) and then chop it up, the individual sections wont playback any sound. I've tried normalising the samples and this gives me really staticy sound and i can make out the original sound under it all, but the quality isnt much good.

any ideas how to fix this?

You might be experiencing phase cancellation. chop shop on the regular akai OS converts the sample to mono when it chops it. try recording a mono sample and chopping that.
