Stupid question. Don´t be mad.

Hi, this question is probably a very frequently ask one here on mpc-forums. But i searched the forum and i couldn´t find anything, so here it goes.
Don´t be mad.

When i play chopped samples or chopped drums in the sequencer they cut off eachother and lay on top of eachother. What can i do to fix this?
I tried setting program to poly but nothing happened and i cut them up so there´s not too much "air" after the sample and no improvment.

What can it be? Does anybody know?
I really want to start making some beats on the 1000 now, this is my first one. I have had i for about a month and haven´t done anything other than chopping samples on it.

I appreciate all the help i can get.

Poly means they will overlap, mono means they will cut one another off when the next pad is pushed, not sure which you want to accomplish but that sounds like your problem, and yes would change that in the program menu so you are on the right track, i just am not clear on which one you want to achieve

if every sample cuts off every other sample, you need to change Program from MONO to POLY
(page 73 in the manual)

if each sample cuts itself off (but doesn't cut off different samples) you need to change the sample from MONO to POLY
(page 74 in the manual)
