hi!

I was wondering if you can trim samples not in the standard units but in beats/bars? I'm using the 3.12 JJOS.

cheers

you can trim a sample any length you want within reason. zoom in and use the start and end points to select the amount of sample you want.

EDIT  noticed i did not understand your question OP. my bad, yeah sometimes i just see what a samples length is for whole bar or half bar and just use calculator to get any fraction of said length. ie sample is 240000 for bar at 128 BPM, so if bpm is same and never changes, then half bar sample is 120000, a third of a bar is 80000. but BPM has to be same.

No, but I use the calculator at http://mp3.deepsound.net/eng/samples_calculs.php.

Look for the section headed 'To find notes length in samples with tempo and sampling rate'.

Just type in your bpm, then you can work out how many samples makes up a bar or whatever.

Get your calculator out and times the whole note sample length by four or whatever.

I started messing around with the OS2XL. But I haven't found a way to crop as sample in an audio track to a specific Bar/beat length. I hoping I could select a specific amount of Bars/Beats in the audio track view and just extract the selected area to a new sample.
