MPC 1000 Click/Pad questions

Hey all,

I'm considering buying an MPC 1000 to use live with my band. I only need to trigger a few samples here and there but my drummer will need to be able to hear the MPC click track. Is there a way to send him the click through one of the assignable outs? Would I have to run a click as a sample? I'd like to avoid that.

Also, is there a way to make it so that a sample plays as long as you hold down a pad, and stops when you release it? Or if you trigger something is there no way to stop the sample.

dont think you can assign the click, but your idea is exactly what I have suggested to others. Send the click out of the assignable outs.

as far as the sample playing the whole length, yes you can set it so it stops when the pad is released. I wish i was in front of my MPC to tell you.

Thanks man. LI represent. I think what I'm looking for is One Shot vs. Note On settings. As far as the click track goes, I've heard JJOS may be able to solve my problems. Can anyone confirm that?

I don't see a problem with the click... Just run a sequenced click track through an assignable out. You'll only need one sampled sound for that, not a big deal. If you need multiple sequences per song, make Track #1 your click track for every sequence you use. Then, you'll be free to use as many tracks (loaded with different programs) as you need per sequence and trigger your samples. Should work with both Akai and JJ OS's - oh well, I've never used Akai but this is basic stuff...
