Bars field jumps from 4 to 5 when i record onto a drum track

Got these two issues im so new to this mpc. I cant seem to locate the information. This happened in Akai OS 2 and also JJOS 3.12.

i think you should reset your MPC..
When the device is turned off, turn it on while holding the ERASE button and hold it till u see the main page... Uhm..the LCD contrast will probably also be reset, so after you turn on the MPC, hold the STOP or SHIFT key (depends on the software type) and turn the DATA wheel to set it right.

Restoring the original settings might show if it's the setting or the software issue.

JN to the rescue one more time. Ummm yes it had something to do with the reset of the parameters. I bought this thing used so every time there is a problem i freak out htinking its broke and not working. But so far this has not been the case!!!! The other issue i had which i resolved well two was the autoloading of samples on boot up and no sound coming from the pads etc. So far ive figured everything out except how to have a sample only play for the duration of the pad being pressed and not just play the entire sample when the pad is pressed just slightly etc.

hmmm I think you should try to temporarily change the pad level value...
Press MODE and than Pad 10 (Other), go to PAD (I guess F4) and lower the "Pad On Level" value... try it from 1 up to to 10. The default (and in my opinion the best) value is 16 but if you'd like a sample to be played only for the time you hold a pad, lowering that value should help...

Try it and tell me if it's what you meant..

Thanks again for the help. I just saw your message now. I must be going blind Im gonna try this out tonight. My friend also suggested changing it from a one shot to something else so the note only plays for the duration of the pad being actually held down.
