Hi, I'm a little new to the MPC1000, have had mine for about a week. First of all I just wanted to use it as a glorified drum machine for now 'cause I love great drum sounds. So I've sampled a complete drum kit from my Bob Clearmountain library CD, and have my laptop running sequences with a playback program in it, playing the sequences connected to the midi in of my MPC1000. And when I play the sequence from my laptop accessing the sounds from my MPC, it plays, but the sequenced tune jogs and sputters along in a slow jerky fashion, and doesn't play properly. It seems the sequencer in the MPC is trying to play along with my midi file from my laptop, as I see the play button light up on the MPC. Can anyone clue me in on what settings I need to make to get the MPC to get things working right? any help is much appreciated, Thank you in advance.

Hi, Yeah I'm not really using my Daw with this setup, it's just midi really. My laptop has a simple little generic midi playback program called Media Sequencer Version 2.0 a very cool little program I found free on line quite a few years ago for playing my midi files back on stage in my PC laptop when doing a solo or duo gig. So just a regular midi interface coming out my USB port from my laptop going to midi in of my MPC1000, and I just want to be accessing the drum sampled sounds from my MPC and the laptop is being the midi master playing the sequences. I hope I'm explaining myself clear enough, thanks again.
