Step Edit Question

Hi
Is it possible to assign an effect to a specific note in a sequence?

as far as i know you cant do just one note.

You can still achieve this though.

What i would do is delete that one note from whatever track it is on.
Then take that note or sample and put it on it's own pad (essentially isolate it from everything else)
Rerecord just that one note on a different track
Then apply the effect to just that pad.

Ok yeah thanks that would work fine but when in step edit if you press insert and then effect what does that do? Whenever I insert it and then choose the effect i want it to make it doesn't seem to do anything.

I'm on the akai os that came with the mpc

im not sure i havent used the akai os in a bit
