Glow in the dark pads?

Hey, I'm a new user here and new mpc1000 owner of about a week.
I bought it second hand off of craigslist, and it's the old blue version and they claimed it to have upgraded pads but obviously does not. The bottom pads have had sensitivity problems since day 1, and I even found the pull-on-corner test online and they're obviously still the separate ones.
Basically, I'm now looking at pads and the glow in the dark look pretty badass, but i don't want to get them if they'll take away any of the functionality. Anybody have experience with these?

You have to get the "pad upgrade kit" first. Then you can start thinking about glow-in-the-dark pads.

Alright so I'm putting money aside now to get it and should have it in a few weeks, but are the glow in the dark pads worth buying or will they inhibit the functionality? I just think they'd look dope on a blue mpc, since they look white in light (i've looked at a few other mpcs with em) and match the green lights in the dark. Am I wasting my time here? I also look to invest in a hard drive (2 gig CF card already isn't cutting it) so I could just save towards that instead. Any input?

you should contact the seller on craigslist and get $180 back from him. that's BS.

thats why im never going to buy a red/blue 1000. can really never take anyone's word on the internet, best bet would be just go for a black or black-n model 1000, but your already stuck with this one (you could re-sell it, make your money back or profit and then cop the black mpc 1000)

i dont have the glow in the dark, but im sure how much they actually glow. i would rather just get blue, red or white pads (if your wanting to match)

i've never understood the glow in the dark pads,...it would seem like they need glow in the dark buttons, not pads lol

Yeah, I contacted him after seeing how much money this would cost me and told him either I needed the pads upgraded or my money back, so he's gonna buy the upgrade for me, he just genuinely didn't know cause his friend sold it to him and told him the pads were upgraded. I'll leave it up to him to get his reimbursement..

And idk, the pads seem to go pretty well with the lights and screen and would be an interesting contrast on a blue mpc.. Has anyone actually played on some and can comment on their feel? THat's what I'm most interested in.

you barely have to touch the new pads to get sound, pretty sensitive and great to play on, soft too....pretty sure it applies to the glow in the dark ones as well
