playing a sample loop without assigning it to a pad

after trimming a sample i would like to play it in loop to check the loop point, without having to assign it to a pad/program and program a sequence.

i know that pressing pads 1-12 in trim mode do that, but you need to keep pressing the pad and i wonder if there is a toggle setting allowing the playing in loop of the sample without having to keep a pad pressed.
