I just purchased a couple of these CF - HD IDE adapters with dual CF slots.
In theory they should work just the same as a HD on the MPC same as the SSD mod on here but with dual slots.

And the best thing is they are only about 4$ with free shipping.

If anyones used this particular one before and it works let me know if not once i recieve them i will post the results asap.

this is the Ebay link I got them from.

:D :D IF this works i believe it will be a great mod for mpc's everywere and the adaptor fits into the plate like a HD so no taping or wedging things to make it stay.

More memory space 128gb of ssd would be great in my mind and the adaptor itself can be mounted/screwed in like a hd to the HD adaptor tray so no worrys about it fallin out or coming loose. and supposedly this doesnt bottlenek the CF card speed as much as the one in the other diy threat.

and think about it 128gb of ssd drive that you dont have to worry about losing bc the hd crapped out. when does a CF card poop'n out ever? its faster and more security when it comes to saving your precious data and songs. I personally wouldnt have piece of mind betting on a spinning hd on a portable mpc one drop or hard slam could be catastrophic. just saying

I installed a dual CF to HD adapter in my 2500 a year or so ago, not that one but similar. Happened to find a couple 16 GB cards for cheap, thought it would be nice to have an internal 2 x 16 GB HD.

It didn't work. The MPC only recognizes one of the card slots. Well, 16 GB is still plenty... Let us know if your adapter works!

that's my thinking. 128 gb is an unfathomably large amount of space for an MPC.
i definitely get the appeal of lack of moving parts, though. definitely more secure. makes me want to back up my HD.

Any Updates? I it won't work I bet, as stated the limitation is in the MPC and only has the brains to deal with one internal drive at a time at a strict hardware level. So even if it did work, and it would only use one at a time.

I am sure it wont... because the mpc can only use one single device per IDE channel, unlike computers which can use two (master/slave)... it might have been cool if you had a switch or something.... but again, you could always swap the cards.
