Different files in a folder sound the same after USB transfe

I transferred a folder of drum sounds to my MPC using the USB connection, but when I go to the folder in the MPC all of the files play the same sound even though they show different sizes and names.

I played them from the MPC disk in the computer and the files sounded fine, its only when played directly from the MPC that there is a problem.

Anyone know what's up?

check that your sample names aren't longer than 16 characters, otherwise mpc will think that it's the same one sample and this happens.

You can keep long sample names no probs, but have eg. a number to differentiate your samples somewhere in the first 16 chars.
