Yes... When I play the raw file it's nice and loud... Just as loud as a stock sound/patch.... But once I load up a patch I converted with Awave Studio it's low coming out of the 1000....

btw thanks for the response... How do I turn up the levels... Can I do the entire patch (rhodes patch) or do I have to turn up each individual wav?

There is no 'patch' on MPC! lets clear up the terminology first. Your so called Patch would probably be a multisampled program. Also lets say sample instead of sound for more terminology consensus.... will help you with understanding the manual as well. There is other things to consider like velocity layers and tuning, but get the basics first. A program on the mpc can be made from one or multiple samples. So samples have to be assigned to pads in the program, and this gives you choices like level and pitch. See Program settings. So pad 1 can be set as sample 1 with 0.00 pitch, Pad 2 can have sample 1 set to 3.00 pitch. this means the pads program controls sample playing on each pad. Go into program window for level and also filter settings can affect sample loudness. check that as well.
Let me make sure that when you say, you audition sample, it is auditioning on the MPC right? from the load screen? I only ask because if you are auditioning the audio sample from the computer, it is a whole different gain structure and there is room for a hundred reasons why it is different level in sound. So audition from load screen in MPC.
All my answers are relating to MPC not computer, like I mentioned before about normalizing the sample. Normalize the sample in the MPC.

Why are you using software to make programs? I am not sure about the software you are using, but it should not matter. You can do all what you ask just with MPC you do not need to use computer at all. And not every DAW ect makes a program that is compatible with a MPC programs, though some do. Does your Awave studio specifically do MPC1000 programs? What OS is on the MPC you have ? is it the Akai operating system? I ask because it is hard to answer with out this information.

I'm not making programs I'm just using the software to convert over my S1000/3000 CD-ROM library... Everything works except the issue with low volume.

I noticed when I convert them over to the NNXT format its not a issue at all... I guess the sampler deals with that issue internally.

Yes it does... It converts into:

PGM R+W AKAI MPC-1000 drum set files + .WAV files.
PGM R+W AKAI MPC-2000XL drum set files + .WAV files.
PGM R+W AKAI MPC-2000 drum set files + .SND files.
PGM R+W AKAI MPC-3000 drum set files + .SND files.

What OS is on the MPC you have ? is it the Akai operating system? I ask because it is hard to answer with out this information.

It's an option in the software that allows me to turn up the volume so I messed around with it til I found a happy medium... I guess I'll go that route... Still strange how other formats deals with it compared to the 1k...

Im going to update the Akai OS later on today and see that helps.

Found out it's an issue with the conversion software (Awave Studio)... The default volume setting is way too low... It converts at only 25%... After messing around with the volume adjustment 12db is perfect...

I also found out the only MPC that has the Master program volume is the 5000.

Hope this helps others that may run into this problem.
